Master Bowie's Black Forest Birthday Cake is a healthy and tasty treat for your pup. Rich in probiotics and antioxidants, it's a cake you can feel good about feeding your dog. It contains natural Greek yoghurt for digestive health and mixed berries, which are loaded with vitamin C, manganese, dietary fibre and powerful antioxidants like anthocyanins, ellagic acid and resveratrol to protect your dog's cells from free radical damage. Indulge your pup on their special day with this nutritious and delicious cake!
Note: This recipe uses kangaroo as the single source of protein. It is suitable to feed as a meal for a 40lb dog. If you use a different protein, please follow the feeding guidelines specified on the product packaging.
* If your dog is allergic to dairy, you can substitute the Greek yoghurt and cream cheese with coconut yoghurt.
Cut the Prime100 SPD Fresh Roll into three sections (7oz each).
Finely chop the mixed berries. If you use frozen berries, drain off the liquid and keep it for decoration.
Whisk the yoghurt and cream cheese until well combined.
Place the first section of the Prime100 SPD Fresh Roll on baking paper, then top it with the berries, yoghurt, and cream cheese mix.
Place the second section on top and repeat the process. Try to keep the sections neat and even.
Once assembled, wrap the cake with baking paper and put it in the freezer until firm but not fully frozen. This will help when you coat the cake surface.
Once the cake is stable enough, remove the baking paper and coat the cake evenly (except the top) with the yoghurt and cream cheese mix. Then cover it with the crushed mixture, leaving the top of the cake bare.
Use the remaining yoghurt and cream cheese mix to cover the top of the cake and let it drip off the sides.
Chop the fresh berries and other fruits (if using) and place them on top of the cake. Add the garden herbs and sprinkle with seeds. Be creative and have fun with the decorations!
Serve the cake and consider cutting it into smaller pieces if your dog tends to gulp down food quickly.
Note: Introduce new ingredients slowly and monitor your dog's reaction. If you are unsure, please consult with your veterinarian. Always have fresh water available.
